If you have recently made up your mind that you would like to go on a scuba diving vacation then it is highly advisable that you start preparing for your scuba holiday in advance.
Preparing for a dive vacation is just as important as the dive itself. You may well feel overwhelmed with the stuff you will need to prepare for your vacation.
However you can easily avoid much of the stress by planning well ahead of your vacation.
This page is there to assist you in your scuba vacation planning process so that you can be rest assured that you will be in for a great, relaxed and fun scuba dive vacation.
The most important part in your scuba diving vacation preparation process is to ensure that you make all of the necessary reservations. Be sure to determine the peak seasons for the area in which you will be vacationing. If you will be vacationing throughout a peak season then you may want to consider to book your flights, hotels and dive operators far in advance to be sure that you are able to secure a spot.
It is also advisable that you get your airline tickets early as these are normally cheaper if you purchase them in advance. Booking your hotel accommodation reservations in advance is also wise. It is recommended that you make your reservations at least three to four months in advance if possible.
Once you have booked your flights and accommodation, be sure to also research for potential dive operators in the area in which you will be conducting your scuba vacation. Be sure that they are certified and determine the types of diving activities that they offer. It is best to book your diving operator well in advanced like about 3 months, if scuba diving is very popular to the area.
Also make sure that you have all the necessary documentation available including your diver certification card, insurance cards and driver's license if you are going to rent a vehicle. Remember, without your certification card, you will not be able to dive.
Make yourself some copies of your passport, ID, travel documents and credit cards and be sure to pack them separately from the originals, so that you can easily replace them in case that the originals are lost.
Scuba Diving can be a very strenuous sport. Be sure that before you embark on your scuba holiday you are in good shape. It is advisable to visit a physician before your scuba diving holidays. It is also advisable to take a look at your medical insurance to determine whether your policy covers illnesses, accidents or injuries outside your country of origin.
Re-confirm your ticket 24 hours before travelling on a domestic flight and 72 hours before going on an international trip. Be sure to check with your airport to find out how early to arrive for check-in.
Without adequate planning your scuba diving holiday may not turn out the way that you had originally hoped it would. That is why it is important that you not only prepare for, but plan out your scuba diving vacation in advance.
